Komikon Indieket 2025
Komikon Indieket 2025 is set to take place at the Bayanihan Center in Pasig City, continuing its tradition of spotlighting the best and brightest of the Philippine independent komiks scene. This year marks a significant milestone as Komikon celebrates its 20th anniversary, and with it comes an even bigger celebration of creativity, storytelling, and local talent.
Expect a full day of vibrant booths, passionate creators, and exclusive indie releases. Komikon Indieket is the perfect event to discover fresh titles, support homegrown artists, and connect with the ever-growing Filipino comics community.
Special Guests
This year’s Indieket features a stellar lineup of creators who have made a lasting mark on the industry:
Aaron Felizmenio – The artist behind the dark fantasy epic Gwapoman 2000, Aaron is known for his visually dynamic storytelling and work that explores Philippine folklore with a gritty, modern twist.
Freely Abrigo – A veteran in both the indie and mainstream komiks scenes, Freely is the creator of the beloved character Kulas, as well as other comic strips and editorial illustrations that reflect Filipino humor and everyday life.
Ardee Arollado – An acclaimed indie comic artist and illustrator, Ardee is recognized for titles like Ang Sumpa, Anitu, and Karnal. His atmospheric art style and emotionally resonant stories have made him a standout in the indie comics landscape.
These creators will be present to share their experiences, sign copies of their works, and engage with fans and fellow creators alike.
Comic Creation Contest: Theme “20”
In honor of Komikon’s 20th year, the Comic Creation Contest at Indieket 2025 revolves around the theme “20” — what that means is entirely up to you. Whether it’s 20 years, 20 lives, 20 seconds, or 20 choices, the creative direction is yours to define. This is a chance to showcase your storytelling prowess and celebrate two decades of Philippine comics culture. The deadline for entries is July 13, 2025.
