Event Details
Obando Festival 2026 returns from May 17 to 19 at Obando Church (San Pascual Baylon Parish) in Bulacan, where thousands of devotees gather for one of the countryโs most unique religious traditions. The festival is best known for its famous dance ritual, where participants pray for fertility, a life partner, good health, and blessings for their families while moving through the streets in celebration and devotion.
The tradition traces its roots to pre Hispanic fertility rituals once called Kasilonawan, which later blended with Catholic practices during the Spanish era. The three day celebration honors different saints in succession. May 17 is dedicated to Saint Paschal Baylon, where couples traditionally pray for a male child. May 18 honors Saint Clare of Assisi, known for blessings related to fertility and good health. May 19 celebrates Our Lady of Salambao, the patroness of fishermen and a symbol of abundance.
Visitors can expect processions, prayer gatherings, traditional music, and locals dancing through the streets in colorful attire as they honor generations of faith and tradition. If you plan to attend, arrive early since the church and surrounding roads can get crowded, especially during the final day of festivities.
