Pulilan Carabao Festival 2026, also known as the Kneeling Carabao Festival, takes place on May 14 to 15 in Pulilan, Bulacan as locals honor San Isidro Labrador, the patron saint of farmers. Itโs one of the provinceโs most famous traditions, drawing visitors who want to witness a celebration that blends faith, agriculture, and community pride.
The highlight of the festival is the unique kneeling tradition, where carabao owners train their animals to kneel on their front knees as they pass in front of the church as a sign of respect and thanksgiving. Farmers pray for good health, better harvests, and prosperity for the year ahead. Carabaos are also cleaned and decorated with garlands, while some join the parade wearing fun costumes that add even more color to the event.
Beyond the famous kneeling ritual, visitors can enjoy lively street parades filled with marching bands, dancing majorettes, and colorful floats showcasing local produce. Many homes are also decorated with kiping, fruits, and vegetables as part of the thanksgiving celebration, making the entire town feel festive during this well loved annual event.
