Event Details
MassKara Festival 2026 returns to Bacolod City from October 1 to 18, 2026, marking the festival’s 47th edition under the theme “Share the Smile, Celebrate Gugma.” The celebration begins with pre festival activities from October 1 to 8, including mall shows, art exhibits, pageant preliminaries, and sports events before the main festivities take over the city from October 9 to 18. Expect colorful masks, street performances, concerts, food kiosks, and community events that bring Bacolod’s famous festive spirit to life.
The biggest moments arrive during the final stretch. October 11 is set for the Miss Bacolod MassKara coronation night, while October 16 brings the much anticipated Electric MassKara Festival with its lively street party and illuminated float parade. On October 17, school groups take the spotlight in the Street Dance and Arena Competitions, followed by the Barangay Category competitions on October 18. The festival’s closing and awarding ceremonies will take place on October 25.
One detail visitors may notice this year is the stronger focus on barangay participation, with the 15 Miss Bacolod MassKara candidates representing different communities across the city. The festival also introduces new spaces for its major dance competitions, giving performers and spectators a fresh setting for one of MassKara’s most recognizable traditions. For those planning to join the busiest celebrations, around 1,800 police officers are expected to help secure the festival, with additional attention on the October 16 to 18 peak period.
