Event Details

Kadayawan Festival 2026 takes place in Davao City from August 8 to 17, 2026, celebrating the city’s abundant harvest, vibrant culture, and diverse communities. The festival takes its name from the indigenous word madayaw, which means good, beautiful, or bountiful, and honors Davao City’s 11 ethnolinguistic tribes whose traditions continue to shape the city’s identity. This year, the Davao City Tourism Operations Office introduces a more compact schedule, bringing the major cultural events closer together.

The celebration begins on August 8 with the official opening ceremonies and festival kickoff. On August 14, visitors can enjoy Agong ug Kulintangan sa Kadayawan, a showcase of indigenous music and traditional instruments. The festivities continue on August 15 with Dula Kadayawan, featuring traditional tribal games, followed by Konsierto Kadayawan and the debut of the Dayaw Art Walk, highlighting local creativity and culture.

The biggest celebrations happen on August 16 during the Kadayawan Grand Weekend, headlined by the colorful Pamulak ug Indak Indak sa Kadayawan, which combines the Floral Float Parade and Street Dancing Parade, followed by the Indak Indak Grand Showdown. The festival concludes on August 17, wrapping up several days of cultural performances, community celebrations, and thanksgiving for Davao City’s rich heritage and natural abundance.
